The Chaliyam-Thirur-Pothinoor railway line, which was established in stages starting in 1861, ended at Chaliyam.
Historically, Kadalundi railway station and Kadalundi market were formed due to this station and its proximity to the river. Goods coming by land and river were exchanged through this market. Recently, the station has come up with splendor and convenience. The smell of sweat, sweat and sweat was unbearable. At one point of time, the indelible memory of humanity and brotherhood was created here recently by VC Raman and Abdur Rahman. It is not just the people who lost their lives, it is the tragedy that Abdurahman, an elderly man, risked his life during the usual morning ride to rescue Rama, who was walking unmindful of the leaping train.
